Mission Statement

“A BRIGHT START TO A BRIGHT FUTURE”

Giving all children the best possible start to life by providing high quality education and care for families in Kalgoorlie-Boulder.

At Goldfields Child Care Centre Inc. we endeavour to provide a warm, secure, nurturing environment in which the rights and the best interests of the child are paramount. Through strong leadership, professional development, committed Educators and support from families, we create a strong sense of teamwork, collaboration, and community, building positive and respectful relationships with one another.

Educators contribute to children’s knowledge through various means, including play-based learning, intentional teaching, observations, and parent input, in a holistic manner supporting individual needs, interests and abilities. We encourage children to express their views, ideas, and opinions through the vast array of activities and resources that are provided.  All children are treated with respect and supported in developing at their own pace. This includes supporting children’s interactions and allowing them to take risks, explore, be adventurous, play, learn and take on responsibilities.

With our caring and friendly approach, we foster relationships with our children, families, educators, and the community. We support children to be global citizens by embedding social interactions through excursions and incursions, that empower all children with the knowledge of how their actions can impact on the community and environment.

We celebrate and embrace the diversity that each family brings and are committed to developing our cultural knowledge and building a culturally safe environment.  We support inclusion by respecting and accommodation the individual needs of each child.  We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the traditional owners of this country, and their connection to land and community.

Our outdoor environments encourage exploration, discovery and respect for the land, nature and living creatures.  We value the resources we use and grow awareness of sustainable practices and the ways we can minimise our negative impact on the world around us

Values

Relationships – The relationships our educators form with children and families build the foundations for ongoing learning and wellbeing.

Professional Learning – Our centre believes that ongoing learning and development for our educators promotes personal and professional growth and is important in providing high quality care.

Community – We value the importance of connecting with the community around us through engaging in excursions and incursions. Connectedness to community supports a child’s learning, development, and wellbeing.
